There have been severe floods in Romania at the beginning of this week, especially affecting the village of Brosteni about 60km from Brodina.  These are due to torrential rain, and are not connected with the tsunamis you’ve probably read about resulting from the Siberian earthquake, which happened around the same time.

Hundreds of villagers have been evacuated and there has sadly been some loss of life.  The whole village is cut off by road, due to mudslides and destroyed bridges.  Firefighters and helicopters were quickly on the scene.

​

Hannah have clicked straight into gear too.  They have dispatched  a trailer and vans with mattresses and hygiene products (collaborating with one of the guys they worked with in support of Ukraine).  They have also liaised with supporters in France to bring foodstuffs, which will arrive in Brosteni on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Hannah’s regular work carries on, with supplies of clothes to Stefanesti and a couple of gypsy villages near Radauti (including Voivodeasa).  The new bathroom for the family in Horodnic is beautifully up and running too.

The works carries on - Hannah have been helping poor families in the Gypsy villages near Radauti, and the boys at Stefanesti.

Cipi continues to be involved in arts-and-crafts after school activities at the Orthodox Church in Radauti, along with Ariadne.
